Perry Sanders - Harmonica & Lead Vocals

Born in Olympia, WA, Perry has been playing music since he was ten. In 1989 Perry started schlepping gear for "Sweatband," a group led by Dennis Hastings and anchored by the guitar of Dave Broyles and the saxophone of Steve Munger. Mostly hauling gear, but occasionally sitting in, Perry went to school on Dennis’ soulful vocals and horn inspired harp playing. After playing jam sessions with some of the northwest's top blues players, Perry met up with Tom "T-Boy Neil" Boyle in 1997. In '98 they formed "The Steamers" and, along with Freddie "Cleanhead" Kellog on bass and Richard "Smoke" Winfield on drums, they played good time, party blues up and down the Pacific Northwest. In 2000 Perry co-founded "The Blues Attitude" with Jerry "J.B." Bentley, T-Bone Williams and Smoke Winfield. In 2004 Mr. Sanders moved to Seattle. Tom "T-Boy" Boyle went on to win the WBS Guitar Player of the Year award twice and formed "Becki Sue and her Big Rockin' Daddies," and "The Blues Attitude" is still gigging in a big white bus.

Perry Sanders has been playing blues on the Eastside since 2003. Usually billed as "The Cellarmen," Perry featured Northwest greats such as Karl Thuman, Brian Feist, Mike Coucoules, K.T. Tuttle, Conrad Ormsby and Keith Anderson. Then in January 2006 the Fabulous Roof Shakers were formed which includes Gordon Benson on saxophones and vocals, Bruce Koenigsberg on bass, Keith White on drums, Joe Lane on Guitar and Vocals and Perry Sanders on Harmonica and vocals. FRS was nominated in 2007 for "Best New Blues Band" by the Washington Blues Society. The Fabulous Roof Shakers is a high energy blues band that can shake the roof.

Gordon Benson - Baritone & Tenor Sax/Vocals

Gordon is one of those rare people who was actually born and raised in the Seattle area. His musical roots were formed in the Seattle rain and gloom, so blues is his most natural form for musical expression. He started playing the sax in grade school and continued to study and practice the instrument through high school and college. College also gave opportunity for studying music theory, playing in various jazz and rock bands and learning guitar and bass. Since that time he has been wailing on the sax in various Northwest bands, including Back Room, Mad Hatter, Blue Field, and most recently I - 5 South.  He may occasionally pull out the soprano, alto and baritone saxophones, but the gritty, raw sound of the tenor saxophone is the sound that he finds really expresses the soul and emotion of the songs he plays.

Bruce is also a sought after contract musician for other Seattle Blues Bands as well as out of town players looking for an in the pocket bass player.

Joe Lane - Guitar

There just isn’t much known about Joe except that he is originally from this area and grew up in Bellevue.

After 18 years of not playing music to raise a family, he then came cruisin’ off of Tiger Mountain in his big green and loud Ford Ranchero GT. In the back, were his Heritage 535 guitar and an Ampeg amplifier. We are talking about here is nothing but Tone, man.

Joe became the Co-Founder of The JamDawgs who head up local jams in Issaquah and Kirkland. He and Bruce met years ago at The Charles White Jam at Larry’s Blues Club in Pioneer Square and have been playing music ever since.

Some of his influences are Jimmy Vaughn, Mike Bloomfield, Hendrix, Clapton, Robben Ford, Kenny Burrell and many others.
